“Love Letters”

Directed by Yuge Zhou | Choreography & Movement Direction by Hannah Santistevan

Love Letters portrays a lively courtship dance between two urban dwellers making the journey towards a union amidst the labyrinth of a city. The ten-minute dance video incorporates colorful architectural shapes and culminates with tender gestures that generated magnetic energy.

2022: Love Letters premiered on the façade of the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago, nightly, as part of Art on theMART’s Fall curation for DCASE’s 2022: Year of Chicago Dance.

2023: Love Letters exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago, IL) as part of LOVE: Still Not the Lesser.

2023-2024: Love Letters exhibited as a digital commission at the LA Public Library (Los Angeles, CA)

“The Brink”

Pushed to the edge - this is where we reside now. There’s no looking back - only forward.

The Brink is a multimedia dance-centric work inspired by the Freudian theory of evolution. The five performers in The Brink revel in the highs and lows of humanity while unknowingly becoming affected by their choices and the weight of repercussion.
